this question was asked on another forum regarding the exhaust rule
Exhaust must be directed toward rear of vehicle, (exhaust in front of tire accepted with turn-up "Bullhorns")

Are Corvette with sidepipes ok for this? They turn out sideways in front of the rear tire

If a Corvette with sidepipes showed up I'm sure Jackie would let them run and wish them good luck

2012 Mean Street Rules Empty Rules for na cars

Post by 8secstreetcar Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:32 pm

Why do the rules require that n/a cars need mufflers and no wheelie bars? Do you want them to be competitive at all? I would love to come and run with you guys a little this year, i spent the last year building a real street type car, but i want even be close without a little help. Most of us can't get very lite, so no minimum weight doesn't really matter too much

With the rules as they are the N/A Cars will be very competitive. All of our Real Street cars from last year will be able to run this class. That 29.5 tire is a big help for us NA guys

Don't you want more cars to be able to race? And why no wheelie bars? I have no desire to have a freak launch and destroy a set of $1500 dollar headers and $1000 oil pan. Some rules just run people away.

Can't wait to get this class started. There should be plenty of cars to race and hopefully good payouts.
